As I was coming back from Colorado from missionary training, I was just feeling kind of distant from God - I was wondering "Am I really hearing God's voice tell me to move to Colorado and ultimately Guatemala or not?" So I asked God to speak to me and give me some kind of a sign that I am doing the right thing. Not two minutes later I passed a highway sign that said "Huerfano County". In Spanish, huerfano means orphan. "Huh," I thought out loud. "how ironic." Then, about two exits later, I see another sign that says"Animas County" - which, in Spanish, means "souls". I just laughed out loud and then said "Ok, ok, I get the picture God." It was then clear to me that though I was leaving Colorado now, I would be returning shortly to "Orphaned Souls". I think it's funny when God condescends enough to accommodate our weak faith, and not only gives us "a sign" to increase our faith, but He speaks to us in a language we understand! God is a kind Master.
